A. J. H. Gillis Middleton, Nova Scotia

A.J. has recently completed his second full-length record in collaboration with a group of respected Nova Scotian minstrels, dubbed The Delusions Of Grandeur. “The folks that helped on the album really helped breathe life into these songs” says Gillis. “The stories in these songs are personal, and I had a strong vision for them, but it was collaboration that evolved the productions.” ... more

Track Name: These Boots
These boots on my feet,
for eight long years they hit these streets,
going nowhere,
I’ve been following my dreams,
but now I chase them through these streets
and I wake up nowhere,
They say I’ve got no right to frown,
but don’t they wonder how that sounds,
to one who’s nowhere,
Sure I’m strumming my guitar,
but I’m tired of hanging round in bars,
it gets you know where,

So I’m up, and I’m headed for the borderline,
these boots on my feet, won’t accept defeat,
And I’m up, and searching for the better times,
These boots’ll take me there, Lord knows I don’t know where
And I’m just to numb to care, but I’m headed somewhere,

Am I looking like a heel,
cause that’s how I have come to feel,
by getting nowhere,
Well my feet are black and blue,
and my soul is worn straight through,
and still I’m nowhere,
They say I’ve got no right to frown,
"you lost your pride, you broke your crown",
but its gets 'em nowhere
And sure I’m strumming my guitar,
I’m tired of hanging round in bars,
it gets you nowhere

So I’m up, and I’m headed for the borderline,
these boots on my feet, won’t accept defeat,
And I’m up, and searching for the better times,
These boots’ll take me there, Lord knows I don’t know where
And I’m just to numb to care, but I’m headed somewhere,
